Was craving Jerk chicken and went here for lunch on a whim. I knew it was gonna be good when the lady behind the counter was not very friendly as is pretty normal for Jamaican food places. Food was incredible, bursting with flavor. Spicy in the best ways but never too spicy. Had the jerk chicken, goat curry, fried plantains and rice & peas. It was all great and I would order it all again. Got the small sizes which were still large. Gotta go back for the steam fish. Highly recommend.

I dined in at Hop-A-Long’s Jamaican Kitchen for the first time on 11/12/2024. Whenever I’m greeted with a smile and warm welcome upon entering a restaurant, I know that the food will be good. And they didn’t disappoint. I ordered the curry chicken with rice and rice, and it was cooked to perfection. The price for a large meal was much lower than I’d expected and worth more than the price. The restaurant was clean and they have an A health inspection. I will be dining here again. Thank you!

My husband came and said I had to try it. After coming back it didn’t disappoint and the food was so good. Owners are very nice people. I had the Jerk Chicken with rice and peas. Will try the oxtails next. Very pleased!!!!!

We were warmly welcomed on arrival. Told about the specials. We ordered the oxtail dish. When we were served, we could see the authenticity of preparation of the food. Then we tasted the food.....we both looked at each other and nodded in approval. Hop-A-Long's did not disappoint. We give them 5 stars.

I went in to order a to go order. The owners were very nice. They were out of jerk chicken (it was only about an hour before closing), but my 2nd choice was ox tails with rice & peas, cabbage, and a side of mac & cheese. They asked if I wanted a small or large and looking at container size it definitely had to be a small. (Portions are very generous.) The flavor of everything was spot on. The gravy with the oxtails mixed perfectly in with the rice & peas too... All in my total was just under 25 and for the quality and amount of food I got, I couldn't be happier!! If you're ever in the area it's definitely worth a visit!

We have been looking for Jamaica food for a while because where we are from there isn't any restaurant that make Jamaica food. Found this spot and 10/10 recommend. Service was great, price was great but the food was even better. Definitely a place to check out!
